Cardboard roll tiger
A toilet roll painted orange, black stripes, two round ears: a little tiger for the shelf, or a roaring puppet.

Materials
- An empty toilet roll
- Orange and black paint : Or orange paper to glue round the roll.
- White paper, black marker : For the muzzle and eyes.
- Glue and scissors
- A fine brush : For the stripes.
Steps
Make
- Paint the whole roll orange and leave to dry.
- With a fine brush or marker, draw black zigzag stripes all round, leaving a clear space at the front for the face.
- Fold the top of the roll inwards, one side then the other: it makes two ears. Round them off with scissors if you like.
- Cut a white oval for the muzzle and glue it in the middle of the face.
- Draw the eyes, a triangle nose, the mouth and whiskers.
- Glue a striped paper tail to the back, at the bottom.
Did you know? Every tiger has different stripes, like our fingerprints. And its skin is striped too, not just its fur.
Same roll, other colours: a lion with a yarn mane, a black-and-white zebra, a spotty giraffe. The whole savannah!
If it goes wrong
- Stripes smudge : Wait, or do the stripes in marker.
- Ears spring open : A dot of glue in the fold.
